Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT)
- While the Officers Intelligence Rating (1 to 5) derived from candidate's performance in Verbal and Non-Verbal tests, is important, the PPDT is the MOST IMPORTANT TEST in the Screening Process to qualify for the next stage of SSB selection process.
- PPDT is like a mini SSB selection procedure, where the three assessors (IO, GTO & Psychologist) sit together to assess candidate's performance in the Picture Description. This task is like Do or Die for candidates , as their Destiny (whether to retain for further selection process) is decided in 20 to 25 minutes of discussion process.
- While candidate's OIR may fluctuate from Rating 1 to 5, their performance during the Picture Description Phase HAS TO BE IMPACTFULL on the assessors. A candidate may score 1 or 2 as OIR, but if the assessors grade him as 'NO' during Picture Description, he will NOT BE RECOMMENDED for the next phase & if a candidate with OIR 4 or 5 gets 'YES' during Picture Description & the three assessors have graded him 'YES', the candidate makes it to the next phase.
HENCE, the bottom line is that "NO COMPROMISE IN PERFORMANCE DURING PICTURE DESCRIPTION PHASE"
